The best image batch-processing app!
I have a lot of photos on my mac, and im adding more all the time. They take up a huge amount of space on my drive, and most of them are much larger than I really need them to be, thanks to the camera "megapixel" race. My plan is to keep a few of the best shots at full resolution, for better print quality. The rest I will scale down to smaller pixel dimensions, and add slightly stronger jpeg compression, to free up 30-60% of the disc space they use.
I have been looking for a good simple image batch-processing app for a long time, tested many of them, and finally found QuickScale -- it is DEFINITELY THE BEST!
It looks and works like modern Mac software, so its a pleasure to use - unlike other apps that look like theyre 10 years old (from OS9), 10 days old (still a prototype), or just too "cutesy" to be useful and powerful. QuickScale retains the color of the original photo - unlike some apps that squashed, dimmed, or shifted the color, or even completely corrupted the image. Currently on v3.9.3, QuickScale is fairly "mature" software (not too old, not too new). And the developer is incredibly responsive.. I emailed a question, and got a thoughtful and helpful response within a few hours.
QuickScale is also very reasonably priced, and theres even a Trial, so its really a no-brainer. I hope this guy writes more softwre!
